StrategyBrand Identity
Project overview
How a simple logo digitization request turned into weeks of intensive strategy sessions, nine concept proposals, and a brand identity strong enough to sit next to BlackRock and not flinch.

Overview
HVR is an operator-backed investment firm built by four founders, partnering hands-on with founders who make between 400,000 and 3 million euros a year.
HVR is an operator-backed investment firm built by four founders, partnering hands-on with founders who make between 400,000 and 3 million euros a year. They came to us with an AI-generated logo and one request: just digitise this.
The challenge
The first round of concepts was solid and still missed. The client's words: this doesn't feel like us. We asked for creative lead and one week. The brand had to stand next to the largest names in finance without borrowing their generic visual language.
Approach
The symbol became a monogram built like architecture: an H and a V locked into one shield, with stroke weights that hold up from embroidery to a banner on a stone facade. The wordmark follows the same logic with connected serif letterforms.
A monochrome palette from light grey to black with one restrained burgundy accent, wax seals instead of glossy print, and centaur paintings as the image world: control before action.

Results
A brand system that finally felt like them: monogram, lockups for HVR Capital and HVR Group, colour, typography and the first applications from YouTube to stationery.
